Bright, airy renovations. Our room was on second floor in older part. Great sleep - comfy bed and good temperature control in room. Breakfast was fine (yogurt and fruit). Understand they are short staff snd that was evident in some odd ways - no soap in room snd solving that took a long time, no one at front desk or in dining room in the morning. People were in the building, but covering multiple jobs, I think. Friendly staff. I would not stay any other place - it’s right at the Pettus Bridge and the NPS interpretive center.

Kristin

It was in an excellent location for what we wanted, the Pettus bridge. We are doing the Civil Rights Trail. It was clean and a little old fashioned, historic, which we liked. It is a beautiful old building. The staff was lovely and accommodating.

Carol

This hotel was great. I’d stay here over any big name hotel 10 times out of 10. It was very clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the gym was nice with great equipment. The interior of the hotel was beautiful and very well maintained.

Rassel

The location is right in downtown Selma, and a block from the Pettus Bridge. The staff was delightful. The rooms are pretty, and the upgrade to a river view room was well worth it as it also gave us balcony access.

David

The St. James in Selma, AL. is a very nice and lovely restored hotel in Selma. We’d like to come back. Our room was clean and gad an individual, hospitable touch. The breakfast and dinner room is inviting.
